About the Beer:
Bitte Honey Brown uses Honey Malt to impart a distinct honey flavor to this beer! Honey Malt does not contain any real honey; instead, Honey Malt is produced using a process that imparts honey-like flavor and sweetness, but does not involve roasting, so these malts are honey-sweet but free from any roasty flavors. Sometimes roasty, toasty or smoky flavors are desirable, but here we wanted smooth and slightly sweet! Bitte Honey Brown is also moderately hopped, providing a deliberate bitterness that nicely balances the honey sweetness. This body of this beer is dark and smooth with no prevailing bitterness. The only bitterness your palette will find is from the carefully selected hops.
About the Name:
“Bitte” is a powerful little word in the German language that can mean a lot of nice things, depending on context. It means “please”. It also means “thank you”. Bitte is also a standard greeting to use when offering something to someone, along the lines of “here you go!”. You can decide for yourself which version of this kind-mannered word you prefer when you’re ordering yourself a Bitte Honey Brown!
